The Ballallaba Protocol
The Ballallaba Protocol aims to establish recognition for Aboriginal
cultural and spiritual integrity; its need to be considered in the
Management, development and rehabilitation of this lands social
and physical assets.
The Ballallaba Protocol acknowledges that this land prior to european
settlement was managed and occupied by people who had established
a culture that was governed by their spiritual connection with this
land now called Australia.
The Ballallaba Protocol also acknowledges the governance of this
spiritual adherence and recognises Aboriginal People as the legitimate
representatives of this special connection with all its customs
and traditions.
The Ballallaba Protocol seeks to establish cultural integrity through
the acceptance of this lands spiritual governance, however acceptance
of this spiritual governance can in no way impose acceptance on
those persons holding differing spiritual beliefs.
The Ballallaba Protocol seeks to establish positive collaborations
between all australians to support the development of Aboriginal
cultural integrity in all aspects of social, commercial and physical
environments for the benefit of all, and;
a) to support and participate in a range of activities and initiatives
that promote, impart and exchange knowledge, culture and ideas so
as to provide a forum for the discussion and debate of ideas and
developments for the promotion of a healthier Australian society,
and,
b) to foster cross-cultural cooperation through cultural, social,
commercial and environmental initiatives developed in collaboration
with Aboriginal People for the development of culturally correct
management practices that promote interpersonal and inter-cultural
harmony, and,
The Ballallaba Protocol calls on all persons and parties associated
with the management of this land and its aquatic environs to seek
spitirual guidance to ensure cultural integrity is established and
maintained for its management, use and rehabilitation.
The Ballallaba Protocol also calls on all persons and parties associated
with management of this land and its aquatic environs to host a
range of social, commercial and environmental activities that foster
and develop good fellowship amongst all Australians.
